I am a huge fan of the Uncharted franchise and most of the games that were released told really great and interesting stories. Of course, Hollywood wanted to make a feature film adaptation and after years of trying to get that project off the ground, they finally delivered an Uncharted movie in 2022 with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.
That movie was so bad that it was painful for me to watch. There was nothing about that movie that I liked, and it’s one of the worst movies I’ve seen in recent memory. I have no idea how that movie got made and the fact that some people actually liked the movie is something I’ll never understand.
So, I just read this quote from the producer of the film, Charles Rover, saying how he thinks the movie was actually good, and they are looking at making a sequel. During a recent interview with THR, Roven was asked specifically if there’s a desire to continue to film franchise, and he said:
« Oh yeah! We had a really good time with that movie. The fans really liked the movie, and people who didn’t know anything about the game really liked the movie. So we are definitely looking to make another one of those. »
I honestly don’t know how any true fan of the game liked that movie, but ok. I would love nothing more than for Sony Pictures to not make another Uncharted movie, and all I can do is hope that it never comes to fruition. I just don’t want to see such a waste of money and talent again.
I get a lot of crap from people about how I like every movie I see. Obviously that’s not true!
